City of Glasgow GC had 17 gymnasts competing across all sections of the 2014 Scottish Artistic Championships.
MA Senior
In the Men’s Artistic Senior Competition Ryan McKee finished in 5th place with a score of 77.021. Andrew Mackie was 6th with 74.500. The other gymnast from City of Glasgow did not compete six pieces - Liam Davie 10th with 66.866 , Douglas Ross 11th with 51.533 and Adam Cox 12th with 48.699.
Results in the Apparatus Finals were:

Liam had a nasty fall in the warm up on high bar and did incredibly well to carry on and competed a reduced difficulty high bar and a floor routine before going to hospital for a check up – fortunately he is ok and is back in training.
MA Youth
In the Youth competition David Weir won the gold medal with a total score of 73.266 and team mate Kelvin Cham won the silver medal with a score of 67.93.
In the Apparatus Finals Youth and Junior sections were combined (due to numbers) and the results were:
Floor David Weir 1st (13.550) and Kelvin Cham 3rd (11.450)
Pommel Kelvin Cham 1st (11.40) and David Weir 3rd (10.55)
Rings David Weir 1st (11.75) and Kelvin Cham 2nd (11.15)

MA Intermediate
In the Intermediate section of the Scottih Championships Kerr McKee won the bronze medal with a score of 64.633. Adam Logan was 4th with 62.401 and Bruce Chalmers 6th with 39.200.

WA Senior
In the WA Senior Championships Carly Smith won the overall silver medal with a score of 48.332. Cara Kennedy (12.633) and Shannon Archer (10.70) competed beam only due to injury. This was Shannon’s first competition in over 2 years and it was great to see her competing again.
In the Apparatus Finals Carly qualified for all four pieces of apparatus and was 4th Vault 3rd Bars 4th Beam and won the gold medal on floor with a score of 13.367

Amy Regan was injured whilst preparing for this competition which meant she was unable to defend her title as Senior Champion. We wish Amy all the best for a speedy recovery.
WA Junior
In the Junior Championships Gaynor McGiffen (competing for the first time in over a year) was 4th with a score of 42.233, Cara McDickom 7th with 39.233 and Sofija Ignatova (only competing on three pieces) was 12th with 31.800.
Results in the Apparatus Finals were:
Vault Sofija Ignatova 1st (13.067*
A Bars Gaynor McGiffen 5th ( 8.30)
Beam Gaynor McGiffen 6th ( 10.833)
Floor Cara McDickom 4th (10.667 ) Gaynor McGiffen 5th ( 10.633)
* Congratulations to Sofija’s who won a gold medal in her last artistic competition – Sofija is now training with the City of Glasgow Acrobatic section.
WA Espoir
Megan Morrison was our only representative in the Espoir Championships finishing 4th with a score of 44.133. Megan qualified for Beam and floor in the Apparatus Finals finishing 6th on Beam (10.233) and won the bronze medal on Floor (11.90).
